What is RPSC 2ND Grade Teacher Exam?
The RPSC 2nd Grade Teacher Exam is also known as the Rajasthan Public Service Commission Senior Teacher Grade II Recruitment. It is a statewide competitive exam conducted by RPSC to appoint eligible candidates as Senior (2nd Grade) Teachers in government schools across Rajasthan. Are you willing to know more about it? The application window will open on August 19 and close on September 17. The exam will be held in September. Exact dates will be communicated by RPSC and admit cards will be issued shortly.
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Between 18 to 40 years (relaxations applicable for reserved categories)
Education:
- Graduation with a relevant subject as an optional, plusa B.Ed. or D.El.Ed.
- For Science and Social Science, a degree must include at least two relevant subjects
Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
RPSC Grade 2 Teacher Exam Application Fee
No application form for the RPSC 2nd Grade Teacher Exam will be accepted without the payment of the application fee, which must be submitted online at the time of registration. The application fee varies according to the candidate’s category. General and OBC/BC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer are required to pay ₹600, while candidates from the Non-Creamy Layer of OBC/MBC, EWS, SC, and ST categories need to pay ₹400. Additionally, candidates with disabilities (PwD) are also required to pay ₹400.
Exam Pattern (Offline, Objective MCQ Format)
Paper I (General Studies – 100 Q, 200 marks, 2 hours)
- Rajasthan GK & Culture: 40 Q
- Current Affairs (Rajasthan): 10 Q
- India & World GK: 30 Q
- Educational Psychology: 20 Q
- Marking: +2 for correct; –⅓ for wrong
Paper II (Subject-specific – 150 Q, 300 marks, 2½ hours)
- Secondary & Sr. Secondary level subject matter: 90 Q
- Graduation-level questions: 40 Q
- Teaching methodology: 20 Q
- Same marking scheme as Paper I
What should be my focus area?
This is a common question that candidates like you ask. You should remain focused on strategic preparations. First, understand the RPSC Exam syllabus and pattern. You must have in-depth knowledge of Rajasthan’s history, culture, geography, current affairs, general knowledge and educational and developmental psychology. To prepare for Paper II, you must excel and have a deep knowledge of English Literature. You must be well-acquainted with research and pedagogical methods.
