The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released the UP PGT 2026 recruitment notification for 2,607 Lecturer/PGT posts in aided secondary schools. Examination Pattern
The written examination will carry 400 marks:
- 360 marks:Written examination.

The written examination will contain 120 objective-type questions:
- 30 questions:General Knowledge.
- 90 questions:Subject-specific content.
The examination duration will be two hours. Each correct answer carries 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Candidates should therefore attempt questions carefully and avoid random guessing.
For English candidates, the 90 subject-specific questions will test the prescribed English syllabus. Students should prepare literature, language, grammar, literary history, criticism, and other areas mentioned in the official syllabus.
Merit and Selection
The final selection process will consider the written examination and interview marks. The notification states that the written examination and interview together carry 400 marks.
