Chhattisgarh State Eligibility Test (SET26) has been officially announced, and the notification gives students a clear schedule for application, correction, admit card, and exam dates. The exam will be held on 4 October 2026, with Paper I from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM and Paper II from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM.
The notification also confirms that candidates can apply online through the official CGSSB website, and that students must keep track of the form dates, fee payment dates, and uploaded document requirements carefully.
Important Dates
The notification lists the following schedule: online application starts on 23 July 2026, the last date to apply is 17 August 2026 up to 5:00 PM, and the last date for fee payment and correction window runs from 18 August 2026 to 20 August 2026 up to 5:00 PM.
The admit card will be available from 28 September 2026, and the examination itself will be conducted on 4 October 2026. The result is expected to be announced in 10 districts/headquarters, as stated in the notice.
Exam Pattern
The test will be conducted in two papers. Paper I is for 100 marks and has 50 questions, to be completed in 1 hour 15 minutes. Paper II is for 200 marks and has 100 questions, to be completed in 2 hours 15 minutes.
The notification also states that Paper I is compulsory for all candidates and that it tests general aptitude and teaching-related understanding. Paper II is subject-specific and carries greater weight in the final merit process.

Eligibility and Qualification
To qualify for eligibility as Assistant Professor, candidates appearing in both papers must secure at least 40% aggregate marks in both papers taken together for the General category, and 35% aggregate marks for reserved categories including SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PWD, and Transgender. The notification makes it clear that this qualifying rule is final and binding.
The notice also mentions that selection and qualification will be based on the reservation policy of the State Government. Candidates should therefore check all eligibility conditions before applying.
Application and Documents
The application process is online only, and the notification says candidates must upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature in the required format. The document size requirement is also mentioned: the photo should be in .jpg/.jpeg format and meet the prescribed KB limit, so students should prepare these files in advance.
The fee structure listed in the notice is Rs. 350 for General candidates, Rs. 250 for OBC/SC/ST candidates of Chhattisgarh, and Rs. 200 for PWD candidates. Students should verify their category before making payment.
