UP TGT 2026: Important Dates

The recruitment notification, Advertisement No. 07/2026, covers 17,735 TGT posts in aided secondary schools across Uttar Pradesh. Candidates must apply through the official UPESSC website.

Candidates should not treat the correction deadline as an extension of the application deadline. Complete registration, payment, and final submission within the application period, then use the correction facility only for changes permitted by the Commission.

Eligibility: Degree, Teacher Training and TET

Candidates must satisfy the subject-specific academic requirements, the recognised teacher-training requirement, and the applicable upper-primary-level TET condition. A graduation degree alone does not establish eligibility for this recruitment.

For the standard academic subjects, the notified academic routes generally include:

• Graduation in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks; or
• The prescribed postgraduate qualification with at least 45% marks.
• Ed. from an NCTE-recognised programme, along with the other applicable requirements.

Students should check the exact qualification row for their subject rather than assuming that any undergraduate or postgraduate degree will be accepted.

Important Qualification Requirement for English Candidates

For UP TGT English, the subject requirement is particularly important. The qualification details specify graduation with English Literature and the required marks, or the prescribed postgraduate qualification with at least 45% marks. Candidates must also meet the B.Ed. and TET requirements.

English aspirants should therefore check:

• Whether English Literature appears in their qualifying degree and marksheets.
• Whether their degree meets the prescribed subject requirement.
• Whether they satisfy the applicable minimum percentage.
• Whether their teacher-training qualification is recognised.
• Whether they meet the required TET condition.

Do not assume that studying compulsory General English, a communication-skills paper, or an unrelated postgraduate subject is equivalent to the required English Literature qualification. If your degree title or subject combination is unclear, seek clarification from the Commission before applying.

TET Is an Eligibility Requirement—Check the Certificate Deadline

The notification includes the relevant upper-primary-level Teacher Eligibility Test for Classes VI–VIII, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Government or the Government of India, among the prescribed requirements.

There is also an important qualification-deadline provision: reporting on the notification states that candidates must possess the required valid TET pass certificate by 30 June 2027. Therefore, students who have not yet qualified TET should not assume that they are automatically barred from applying now; they must read the detailed advertisement to understand the application, qualification, and appointment conditions.

Before submitting the form, verify the accepted TET paper, certificate requirements, deadline, and stage of document verification.

City Intimation Slip and Admit Card

According to the notification details shared for this announcement:

These are separate documents. The city-intimation slip helps with travel planning; students must download the admit card for their exact venue, date, shift, reporting time, and entry instructions.

Because the examination runs over two dates, candidates should follow the release schedule and examination date allotted to them. Check the official website regularly rather than relying on forwarded messages.

Prepare with the Yoddha Batch at Sahitya Classes

With the examination scheduled for December, students should prepare alongside the application process rather than waiting until their form is submitted.

The Yoddha Batch for UP TGT English is running on the Sahitya Classes App. Students can enrol for structured preparation with Prof. Vineet Pandey and the faculty team.

The batch brings together preparation in:

• English literature.
• English grammar and language.
• General Knowledge.
• General Science.

The aim is to help students build a balanced study routine, revise consistently, and prepare across the relevant sections rather than concentrating on literature alone.

Prof. Vineet Pandey guides English literature preparation in the Yoddha Batch, supported by teachers for grammar, GK, and GS.

As shared by Sahitya Classes, his examination achievements include:

• 11 NET qualifications.

What Should English Aspirants Do Now?

Start by checking eligibility—not just the percentage requirement, but also the English Literature subject condition, B.Ed. qualification, and TET provisions. Then complete your application before 23 November and review it carefully before the correction window closes.

For preparation, create a timetable that balances literature, grammar, GK, and GS. Include question practice and revision from the beginning, and compare your study plan with the officially published syllabus.

Sahitya Classes invites UP TGT English aspirants to enrol in the live Yoddha Batch and work towards the December examination with a clear, consistent preparation plan.
